MARSHALL – Southwest Minnesota State University’s women’s swim and diving team finished the weekend Saturday afternoon with a first-place finish in 11 of 14 events with two victories in the SMSU Triangle.
SMSU defeated Concordia-St. Paul 172-47, and won an 186-42 victory over Augsburg.
Annika Freiburger won four events, three individual and one relay, to lead the Mustangs. She won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2: 04.17, the 100 butterfly yard in 1: 04.58 and the 400 medley yard with a time of 4: 53.38. She was part of the 400-yard medley team with Julianna Villa, MacKenzie Kallevig and Maija Geier winning in a time of 4: 14.18.
Natalie Bohnert had two wins today, taking the 200-yard IM with a time of 2: 14.46, while also winning the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.40. Kallevig won the 500-yard free with a time of 5: 36.11, while also making the 400-yard free relay team with Villa, Addi Schroeder and Quincie Klein claiming to win in a time of 3: 49.02.
Geier took the victory in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.69.
Sarah McDonald won first place in the one-meter diving with a score of 183.80 and in the three-meter diving with a score of 206.20.
The southwestern state of Minnesota is heading to the Augustana Invite in Sioux Falls, SD, November 18-20.
