Air Force Tuition Assistance | Online, on site or on site

As a yellow ribbon school and a proud participant of the Air Force Community College (CCAF) Mobile General Education (GEM) Program, National University offers Air Force tuition assistance to Airmen in active service all year round. With over 75 degree programs available, our military-friendly month-long course format offers a variety of degree programs, certification programs, and credentialing programs online, on-site, or on-site.

United States Air Force University Education

As an Air Force-Friendly University, we are proud to offer the military the opportunity to earn a degree. Our month-long courses have been designed specifically for military students of all branches so you can attend class without disrupting your duties.

Air Force Admission Process

At National University, applications are reviewed throughout the year, so you can start classes any month of the year online, on-site or on-site. Please take a few minutes to review our five-step admissions and registration process before submitting your application. For more information, contact Military Online at (877) 628-6828.

Step 1: Determine Level of Tuition Assistance (TA)

Contact your base’s base education office to complete a Department of Defense Tuition Assistance Application. Completing this form will get you started and get a degree.

Step 2: Apply online to National University

Complete the online National University registration form.

Once the TA Authorization Form is completed and signed, you can fax, email, or hand deliver the TA forms to your advisor. To ensure you get the most out of your tuition assistance, see the Financial Aid section.

Requests are processed within one week, but AT authorization will take longer to process. A verification of your registration and a welcome letter will be emailed to you once everything has been processed.

Step 3: Take Placement Tests

If you are a first-time student, you must take the ACU placement test online or on-site within the first 30 days of enrolling.

Step 4: Select a study program

Determine the degree or program that interests you. See our list of online programs available to take classes anywhere in the world, or check out the locations page for on-site or on-site programs.

Step 5: Textbooks and course materials

Once you have submitted your registration form, received registration confirmation, and submitted your technical support forms and payment, you can order your textbooks, CDs, and other course materials online from the library. ‘university.

Air Force Tuition Assistance

Air Force Tuition Aid will cover your tuition for your bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, but will not pay for any fees, books, materials, or exams. Funding restrictions are the same as the standard limitations for all military. However, the hourly limits are 16 semester hours, 24 quarter hours or 240 clock hours per person. If you are unable to maintain a specified grade point average (GPA) or have an incomplete for a course, you will be required to repay the aid you have already received.

In addition to our military tuition discount, you may be eligible to apply for veterans benefits under existing veterans programs. The National University also participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program.

A: To qualify for Air Force Tuition Assistance, you must first have your application approved by your supervisor through the Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC). This approval must also fall within the TA request window of 45 calendar days before, and no later than 7 calendar days before, the start date of the mandate.

A: The Air Force AT application must be completed through the Air Force portal at https://www.my.af.mil/. Start by creating a username and password, then complete the six-step online application.
